PrimeTurbo: We need to change our mindset

We lost both games in this week’s eSuperliga and now the top eight-spot seems to be an impossible task. Lars ‘PrimeTurbo’ Korreborg evaluates the season and reveal the new focus for our FIFA-team.

Most of our games have been very close this season, yet we only got four points after 10 games and our dream of top eight is far away. It seems like something have been missing and our playing coach tries to explain what went wrong:

– Throughout the season, we’ve lacked margins, and our FUT teams just haven’t been good enough from the start of the season. We’ve learned a lot from this season and that’s also why we’re keeping our heads high. Beside that, we also had some ups and downs in the games and mentally. We work a lot to be more stable in the games because it’s not just about accidents and margins. We have to look inwards and perform better, the coach says.

The team now got 11 points up to the top eight, which gives access to the Finals, and only five rounds remain in the group game, so even though it’s mathematically possible, the team has started to change focus:

– We’ve changed our mindset and are not looking for top 8, but simply takes one match at a time. We set some criteria for every game and do everything we can to win each match. We have a good team, but we have to win several matches in a row to take the overall victory. We’ll learn, develop and build self-confidence for the rest of the season. Five matches remains, and we’ll go for victory in each of them, no matter how tough it looks, PrimeTurbo says.

Last season the coach led the team to a fantastic third place in the league. This season, experienced Fatih Üstun and Nicklas Jakobsen are replaced by young Tamer, Rom and Krøll, as AGF Esport is all about developing the FIFA stars of the future. The players have gone through a fine development so far according to PrimeTurbo:

– I think the players are moving in the right direction. We had a break down and didn’t perform well this week, but now we look forward, analyze further and try to understand what went wrong. Our team spirit has developed a lot, and we get to know each other much better. It hasn’t been the season we hoped for, but I actually feel we’ve deserved 15-18 points. Instead we’re battling in the bottom of the table. Next season we’ll hopefully have better FUT-teams, and we’ll work to win every time, Lars says.

Next match for our young players is on Tuesday, when FC Helsingør is waiting.
