Great start in Powerligaen

We got off to a good start in Powerligaen last week. FaagaN hopes that the team can follow up on the good performances when bigger opponents awaits.

Hobro Vikings were defeated 16-10 in the first round of Powerligaen (formerly known as C4 Ligaen) and our coach, Rasmus “FaagaN” is quite satisfied with the team’s development and performances lately:

– We played well against Hobro. They are about to change a player in their line-up, so they have some redeployments that make us much more settled than they are. It was a deserved victory, where we met the expectations as favorites, he says.

We’ve met the Vikings almost 10 times in recent months and haven’t lost yet, so the victory was expected. The expected victories are fine, but now the coach hopes that the team will start delivering some surprises against teams from higher rankings:

– The results are fine, but right now we are waiting for a big victory. So far, we’ve taken many expected victories, but we want step up, and we hope to beat some of the teams that are the level above us on paper. Powerligaen gives us a changes to do so. A surprise or two would be good to boost the team’s confidence and take the next step in our development, FaagaN explains.

The team’s goal is a top three position in Powerligaen, which consists of a number of the Danish sub-top CS: GO-teams. This year, Copenhagen Flames also participates, which makes the competition even closer:

– We are five teams that are very equal as I see it. If you lose to one of the other favorite crews, the top position can disappear. Therefore, full focus is required in all matches, says Rasmus.

If we succeed in retrieving the title, a prize of DKK 10,000 will follow.

In addition to Powerligaen, the team has been busy with ESEA Main matches, where we qualified for the Playoff games.

We meet the german team CPlay, which Faagan hopes to beat:

– It’s a team we’d like to be able to beat. But it’s difficult to know the strength of all the teams because it is so scattered both geographically and level-wise, but I hope and believe in a victory in the first playoff. Y
